ABOUT US

YTK is the leading unemployment fund in Finland. A professional in ensuring income security, YTK has more than 305,000 members and employs 120 people. The fund pays annually €330 million in benefits and manages an equalization fund of tens of millions of Euros.

YTK provides its members with income security. This means that you are entitled to receive earnings-linked benefits during unemployment. If you are not a member of the unemployment fund, you will only receive basic unemployment allowance or labour market subsidy from Kela. YTK's slogan "Ensuring your income security" emphasises the fact that YTK provides income security in case of bad days for nearly every ninth wage earner in Finland.

All Finnish wage earners can become members of YTK. It is easy to obtain income security: You can join either by filling in an online form or by requesting a printed form.

2010 marks YTK's 19th year of operations. Membership continues to increase, and the fund's finances have a solid basis. YTK is a non-benefit organisation that consolidates surplus into an equalization fund.

YTK's office and organisation

YTK's office is situated in Loimaa, and all its services are managed there. Thanks to efficient telephone and online services, it is possible to carry out all operations in Loimaa, although the members are in different locations in Finland.

The members of YTK's executive group include Managing Director Auli Hänninen, Director of Finance Jouni Niuro and Customer Service Manager Saara Perho. Daily allowance processing is performed by five order payment teams. Customer service takes place through the telephone service if the issue deals with benefits paid by YTK, and in the membership team if it concerns membership matters. These teams also take care of online feedback. The fund's internal service team manages incoming mail and the electronic archiving process. Each team is led by a Service Supervisor.

Earnings-related benefits

YTK members are entitled to earnings related benefits during unemployment. Daily earnings-linked unemployment allowance refers to an allowance that is determined according to income. YTK also pays other earnings-related benefits, including alternation compensation.
